By: Dan Bartkowiak, PA Family Council  The lone debate between Governor Josh Shapiro and Treasurer Stacy Garrity gave Pennsylvanians just one hour to hear directly from both candidates seeking to lead this Commonwealth next year.  The two moderators, ABC27 Central PA’s Dennis Owens and WPXI Pittsburgh’s Lisa Sylvester, covered roughly a dozen topics, from healthcare to state budgets to the ongoing debate over skill games.  The moderators kept the discussion focused and professional. (The Center Square) – A group of lawmakers are planning a last-minute play to extend the Supreme Court’s Oct. 13 deadline concerning so-called “skill games” and they are doing it in court, rather than in the lawmaking chambers of the state Capitol. The group, in a pending filing with the court, is expected to ask the court to use its “King’s Bench” authority to reset the deadline to Feb. 10, 2027. The Game of Life, the family board game marketed to children 8 and up, has been used by the Pennsylvania Lottery on billboards, in commercials, and in grocery stores advertising a scratch-off with the top prize of $1 million.
