Hate Has No Home – Except for Jews, Tragically

On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists raided an outdoor concert, villages, and homes across Israel, purposely, violently, and savagely seeking out and attacking innocents. Concert-goers. Mothers. Daughters. Children. Some they raped. Some they murdered. Some women were raped, then murdered. Babies were beheaded. Funded by Iran, those terrorists launched that barbarous attack without warning. Without provocation. Those terrorists targeted innocents to send a message. Worse, they purposefully targeted women and children. Why? That caught my attention—not primarily as a former elected official, but as a retired Marine Reserve Colonel. During my years in the Marine Corps Reserve, I

Pittsburgh could face a major budget deficit this year and perhaps a multimillion-dollar shortfall in coming years. And a researcher at a local think tank says there are myriad steps that must be considered to help begin to balance the books. “(I)f estimates from the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) second quarter report hold, the year will end in a deficit,” says Eric Montarti, research director at the Allegheny Institute for Public Policy. “The preliminary 2027 operating budget and five-year forecast show four years of negative operating results and a negative ending fund balance in 2031,” Montarti says (in Policy Brief Vol. 26, No. 35). “Faced with these financial projections, city officials must take a hard look at what
